Training for Titan NBEST Program Delivers Titan XD

When Nissan announced the forthcoming launch of the long awaited, second generation 2016 Titan XD, the automakers’ aim was to shake up the competitive full-size pickup segment. With anticipation building, industry-wide, for the release of the new luxury truck, PDI’s NBEST (Nissan Building Excellence with Sales Training) facilitators readily accepted the task of training for Titan.

For more than six years, PDI has routinely delivered the NBEST program for Nissan – designed to improve dealer product knowledge of all Nissan models and provide on-going training opportunities for dealership staff – across the U.S. and Canada.

But, the totally new, award-winning 2016 Titan XD challenged facilitators’ to approach the NBEST training for the flagship truck in a whole new light.

“The Titan XD response has been over the top,” says Cari Reagan, Training Manager. “Our facilitators are even being stopped on the street for questions and walk-bys.”

That’s because the 2016 model showcases an all-new body style, powerful Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine, and cutting-edge innovation in towing, utility and driving aids.

That’s a lot of product knowledge.

PDI’s Titan XD Train-the-Trainer (T3) session, where facilitators prep for the next NBEST session, was extended by an additional full day to cover the Titan’s specifics from top to bottom.

Senior Manager Nissan Truck & SUV Product Planning Rich Miller attended a portion of PDI’s Titan XD T3.

“We were thrilled to have Rich personally conduct a walk-through of the new Titan for our facilitators,” says Reagan. “We gleaned so many nuances and tidbits about the truck that we couldn’t have gotten anywhere else.”

The Titan XD’s new enhancements and upgrades challenged facilitators to refresh their expertise in trucks, especially the ins and outs of a Cummins Diesel engine and brand new technology like the Titan XD app.

“The Titan XD launch was an extremely high priority for Nissan,” explains PDI President Brad Funk. “This has been a huge project for PDI. We are honored to help Nissan launch the XD through our NBEST program.”

Titan sessions include 20 U.S. facilitators and another three in Canada. Titan XD NBEST sessions will continue through March. PDI NBEST teams will begin sessions on the gasoline version in April.
